Performance at Kings

Thank you to the 19 TADAA students who performed on stage with The Spirit of Pink Floyd  at The Kings Theatre last Saturday. It was a great (though long and tiring!) night, and the photographs in The News on Monday were terrific.

TADAA students appearing at The Kings Theatre tonight!

Approximately 15 TADAA drama students will appear on stage tonight with the tribute act ‘The Spirit of Pink Floyd’ at The Kings Theatre in Southsea. Two weeks ago they were asked to learn the words to the famous Pink Floyd track ‘Another Brick in the Wall’, and to adopt the character of a surly and disenchanted school child. During the number in the second half, students will sing along with the band to an audience of hundreds. For some, it is the first time they have ever performed on stage!  What a way to start their theatre career! The News will be taking photographs during their dress rehearsal today, and we will hopefully appear in the paper again on Monday 23rd November.

TADAA comes to Gosport – New Drama Classes in Gosport in 2010!

Good news for budding drama talent in Gosport! TADAA drama classes begin in Gosport from February 2010! As we have had so much interest from potential students who live in this area, we wanted to extend the drama school there first. To book your place in class now call 07528 875738

WHERE? HEDCA Community Centre, Coombe Road, Gosport (Room 3)

WHEN? Every Thursday from 4th February 2010

ACT I Ages 6 -10   6pm – 7pm

ACT II Ages 11 – 18 7pm – 8pm

PRICE? Works out at £5 a class, payable in advance every half term

If you love performing, improvisation, role play and want to extend your knowledge of drama styles and techniques, TADAA is the drama class for you. We also focus on the voice; improving projection, clarity, diction and developing a sense of character. Over time,  you will develop a stronger stage presence, and you will be able to use your body with more confidence when acting.

This year, we are entering students for LAMDA voice and drama exams, and we will put on a show in the Summer months. Gosport drama students will join students from other TADAA classes in Hampshire for the show, which will be a very exciting venture!

The Gosport weekly drama workshops will take place at HEDCA Community Centre, which is on Coombe Road in the centre of Gosport. This is convenient for keen actors in Alverstoke, Bridgemary, Rowner and Lee on Solent.

The drama classes will take place on a Thursday night and begin on February 4th 2010. These weekly classes will be taught by the principal Bryony Rose during term time, and classes are incredibly competitive compared to other drama schools. Unlike many expensive ‘Performing Arts’ Saturday schools, TADAA focuses on acting and the actor, and teaching REAL drama skills, not just the cringeworthy ‘eyes and teeth’  style that is often taught at these overpriced schools where the focus in placed on dance and singing.

Please look at details about classes on the ‘Classes’ page of our website.

Bookings for classes are being taken now, and should you be interested, phone now  on 07528 875738, or email the principal: enquiries@tadaa.info
