TADAA students took to the stage at St John’s College in Southsea on Thursday and Friday of February half term with their prepared solos, duologues and group pieces. Not only were they competing against other students, but they also faced the evaluative comments of the adjudicator. Over the two days, ‘Distinctions’ were awarded only four times – and TADAA students won three of them! We also appeared in The News on March 2nd 2011, and both Charlotte Smith, who gained a ‘Distinction’ for her Solo, and James Hillier, who gained a ‘Distinction’ for his Trio piece, were quoted in the article. Here are our winners:
Charlotte Smith – Character Study Age 11-12 and the Mona Rickard Cup – Distinction
Bethany-Grace Devine – Character Study 15 years and over and the Mayville Trophy Cup – Highly Commended
Jasmine Ramshaw and Elizabeth Devine – Duologue 14 years and over and the Livesey Cup – Highly Commended
Logan Clack, Adam Stanley, Lucas Bradshaw – Trio 10 years and under and the Lovage Cup – Highly Commended
Samuel Fenton, Ronnie Watts, James Hillier – Trio 14 years and over and the Betty Smith Memorial Award – Distinction
Jessica Jowett, Chloe Hughes, Poppy Chilvers, Leah Alexander – Acted Scene 18 years and under and the Sargeant Cup – Distinction
Well done to our winners, and to all our fantastic students for taking part.
